Gn'R Alpaca farm is located in Lisle, Ontario
We are a small farm raising alpacas for their amazing fleece.
Gail has always been interested in fibre which is why alpacas was such a good fit with their new property.
Alpaca fleece is lustrous and silky, warmer than wool, not prickly and contains no lanolin, which makes it non allergenic. It is soft and luxurious. Alpaca fibre is also flame-resistant.
Gn'R Farm processes their fleece from start to finish.
The alpacas are sheered in May, the processing continues right through till the next sheering.
All the while the animals are starting to grow new fleece for the next season.
We have raw fleece, carded fleece, hand pulled roving, hand spun yarns, right through to completed items like hats, mitts, scarves.....
Items may be felted, knit, crocheted or woven.
Each is a hand made "one of a kind".
Socks are always a great choice too.

Alpaca is found in every natural colour and shade (22 basic recognized colours).
Alpaca fibre is very strong and resilient.
The fibre contains microscopic air pockets that create lightweight garments with high insulation values.
The cellular structure of the fibre produces a soft handle unmatched by most specialty fibres.
Alpaca has a natural rich luster that gives garments high visual appeal.
Alpaca is easily dyed any colour and still retains its natural luster.
Alpaca does not easily tear, pill, stain or create static.
Alpaca garments are easily cleaned and last a long time.

We are members of Alpaca Ontario, South Simcoe Arts Council, Nottawasaga Hand Weavers and Spinners, the Ontario Farming Association and Upper Canada Fibreshed.
Products are also available at The Textile Museum gift shop in Toronto, ON. And THe MacLaren Art Center Gift Store in Barrie.
