The Nottawasaga Handweavers and Spinners Guild started in January, 2003, with a group of five fibre enthusiasts. Since then we have grown to more than thirty members, who meet monthly to share ideas and to learn more about the art of spinning and weaving. The group consists of people at all levels, from beginners to master weavers and spinners.
Ontario Alpaca Association
In October 2001 a small group of alpaca owners from Ontario got together with the idea of starting a provincial alpaca association. Alpaca Ontario Inc. was formed, with the following mission statement. “Alpaca Ontario represents the collective interests of Alpaca Owners and Breeders in Ontario to actively promote the awareness of the Alpaca and related fibre industry encourage through education the highest quality Alpaca husbandry and breeding practices and foster interaction among its members.”

South Simcoe Arts Council
The Council seeks to make the Arts accessible to all members of the communities, by providing information about arts events and programs, by engaging the community through festivals and events, and by advocating for a central role for the Arts in the economic and social development of the community. Arts involvement enhances the well being of every individual. The South Simcoe Arts Council’s Arts now in it’s 21st year, showcases “arts for all” through programs such as an 8 day Music Festival, a Choral Workshop, Youth Arts, Emerging Arts, many Visual Arts programs, Literary Arts, Youth theatre annually in the spring through to mid June. The popularity and calibre of its programs has been the impetus for growth. The South Simcoe Arts Council continues to contribute to community festivals such as the Beeton Garden & Honey Festival, the Tottenham Bluegrass Festival and the Potato Festival weekend in August of each year. It also works to meet it’s goals in order to portray our vision of “Arts for All” by providing outreach programs throughout South Simcoe. Partnerships have developed among community organizations and municipal governments.
